Drawing conclusions… I spent some time reflecting on my process in this cycle. The 3rd cycle of my project is underway. After developing a course of action based on the data collected from the committee during the last cycle, I was able to take several steps to improve my practice as the chair of the committee. At the core of this has been a deep commitment to the preparation and communications related to the meetings with the hopes of increasing communication, participation, and collaboration amongst the group.
During cycle 2, I developed and launched the online collaboration space. Originally, I thought that this space would provide a location for lively discussion about the topics near and dear to the committee. Interestingly, this has not been the case. The space has primarily served as one-way communication vehicle about the meetings. We saw a spike in the online discussion when the service first launched, however, the discussion within the space has plateaued.
I’m not sure what to attribute this to at this point… What’s fascinating about this is that I’m generally sensing that my CoP is growing stronger with each meeting and that the steps I’ve taken to better prepare for the meetings is yielding positive resultes. more on this later as write my cycle 2 report…I need to sleep.
