Initial Thoughts - Today’s meeting was great as we had a large turnout. I distributed the agenda by email this week as I prepared the collaboration space. In general, I feel that the meeting was productive and very well received.

Attendance (16): We had a significant increase in the number of attendees. . There were 9 representatives from Web & Multimedia Services, 1 from the School of Law, 2 from Public Policy, 1 from GSEP, 1 from Advancement, 1 from Seaver, and 1 from GSBM. This group also included 4 new attendees. These newcomers we welcomed into the group and I look forward to their participation in future discussions.

Agenda/Topics:

Recap of OmniUpdate Conference (Ed/Matt)
Discussion/Presentation of School/Department issues and initiatives for the spring/summer (all)
WDC Collaboration Space & Content Discussion (All)
Search Engine Optimization (All)
Development Software Licensing (Matt/Ed)

My process/reflections: I’ve noticed that I have been spending quite a bit more time preparing for each of these meetings. This week, I spent a few hours developing the collaboration space which contains threaded discussions, shared files, a chatroom, links, and photo album. I setup a few test threads to get the discussion going.

In general, I feel that the discussions were lively and there was quite a bit of discussion surrounding everyone’s current project focus. I believe that my collab space demo went well and there were several members who asked how they could access the space immediately! (This was encouraging!) After the meeting, I added the committee to the online space. I noticed that a few of the committee members began to publish some of their favorite web resources/links. Several members of the commitee have also begun to post in the discussion board. I’m excited to see how the group newcomers are also actively posting. Interesting.

Things are looking good!
